(NOW CLOSED)Brand spankin’ new to Austin, TX and the first of its kind, The Lab opened its doors to the public and I couldn’t wait to see what was inside.

What is it? A fitness facility that offers a range of different “methods” including Shift, Grind, Transform, and Flow as well as the Honest Bar which is their juice/smoothie bar inside the facility.

What are the Classes?
Shift – A Cycling class based on metrics (Torque and RPM) that is used to compete with one another in class.
Grind – This is a class that challenges your strength and agility by using body weight and equipment like TRX bands and monkey rings.
Transform – A take on Pilates and Barre, this class fuses them together to create on heart pounding, beat based, total body toning workout. They also utilize a customized resistance wall unit for each class brining resistance into the mix.
Flow – Focusing on mobility and release, this yoga class takes it one step further to create a moment rather than just another workout.

Did someone say Juice? That’s right! The Lab has their very own Juice Bar called “The Honest Bar” that preps grab-and-go as well as made to order juices for their clients. They use only the best organic ingredients to blend together power packed treats. We all know (or should know) that nutrition is just as important if not MORE important than working out. So by having The Honest Bar just steps away, it makes fueling your body after a workout that much easier.

Amenities. Yes, they do. Validated parking, spin shoe rental, lockers, showers (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash included), towels, juices/smoothies.

Final Thoughts. My experience with The Lab was nothing short of amazing and I’m so glad I finally had the opportunity to check it out. Speaking with the Owner, Beverly, you can tell she is so passionate not only about fitness but The Lab in general and what it stands for. You can really tell how much she enjoys being there and interacting with everyone like they’re family!
