Since getting back from my trip to San Francisco with my sister, I’ve been itching to share all my favorite healthy spots we visited while in the city! Including the hotel we stayed at that was incredibly fit friendly, all the delicious and nutritious restaurants, and of course workouts to keep me going.

The words “travel” and “healthy” are rarely ever used in the same sentence but honestly, SF makes it really easy. The city itself has some amazing outdoor and indoor spots for working out plus farm fresh cafés and restaurants to keep your tummy happy. The difficult part of it all is actually picking a place to go! I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty indecisive and when a city has a huge food and fitness scene, it can be somewhat overwhelming.

I’m here to be your guardian angel on your journey through SF and keeping your healthy lifestyle on track.

For starters, it’s important to stay in a spot that is relative to the area aka downtown. It makes walking to said studios and restaurants easily accessible and walkable. I’m that person who books a hotel based off of their gym and although they were lacking a little bit of equipment, they made up for it with their amenities and did NOT disappoint.

Stay in San Francisco

We stayed in the Sir Francis Drake Kimpton Hotel located right by union square in the middle of Downtown SF (to anyone extremely familiar with the area, be kind as I’m speaking from on what Google Map tells me).

Not only was it prime Real Estate for all the places we were wanting to visit, but there were tons of perks that came along with staying there including:

  1. Bike Rental from the hotel
  2. Yoga Mats in each room
  3. Fitness Center
  4. 5pm-6pm Free Wine HH in the lobby
  5. Room Service
  6. Night Club on the 21st Floor (Starlight Room – Drag Brunch offered on Sunday’s!)
  7. Scala’s Bistro (Hotel Restaurant)

On my IG stories, you may have seen me complete a workout in the gym while I was there. The equipment available were some free weights, cardio machines, and a smith rack and guess what, you MAKE IT WORK! There was plenty of room to get creative and get your sweat on.

Eat in San Francisco

SF is full of some of the tastiest foods and I’m not saying don’t eat at them, but if you’re wanting something a little lighter here are a few of my top picks in the city!

Bluestone Cafe
Blue Bottle Coffee
Tartine Manufactory

Workout in San Francisco

Lastly, would it even be a fit trip without a workout? San Francisco is FULL of amazing gyms and boutique studios that it was pretty challenging to go through the list and pick my top favorites. I mean, you’re on vacation so no time should be wasted, right?

Here are just a few of my favorites and they range everywhere from a zen yoga session to high intensity training!

When traveling, I make sure to make time for workouts, eating right, and setting myself up for success by staying in the right areas of town.
