Where: Black Lagoon: Yoga + Art (NOW CLOSED)
What: Restorative Yoga
Austin Vibes. Much like the eclectic culture of the City of Austin, Black Lagoon gives you that same feel in one cozy space by covering the walls with artists paintings and making you feel right at home upon walking through their doors.
Two things that Austin is all about are community and fitness, so using the space as an art gallery alongside yoga is pretty much a match made in heaven!
What to Expect. I was going in thinking that I would get a nice stretch session in, maybe some extra lengthy downward dogs and what not, but it ended up being something way better. This was an hour and a half of pure bliss. There were all types of props used to dig deep into your tissues and relax your entire body. The instructor even had a moment in class where she went around and gave each student a shoulder massage… that’s right.
The Restorative class is made to hold poses for anywhere from 5-20 minutes to fully relax and restore your body and mind. Making you feel extremely zen and like a truly new human.
Amenities. Free parking along the street or in the parking lot next door (Unless it’s the first Saturday of the month), bathroom and water fill station.
Extras. Every first Saturday of the month, next door in their usual parking area is a Vegan Farmers Market!
