Hey, y’all! Not going to lie, I’m coming off the ultimate high from getting back from Seattle with the big sis. One of our favorite things to do is take travel trips together because, well, we’re super single and what better travel companion than your own gene pool?
The last time we were in Seattle, it was with the whole Torabi family to celebrate New Years. We all had an absolute blast and ultimately decided it was one of the best family trips we had been on… partly because we had very few family feuds during the week-long trip but also because the city was just so magical.
If you followed along on my Instagram, you already know that Shayda and I honestly had a blast. Our list of things to do was long but we accomplished it and the weather was just absolutely PERFECT! I mean… perfect. Imagine highs in the 60s with not a cloud in sight. Which is super rare for Seattle.
I got tons of questions from y’all about our itinerary and that you felt inspired to book a flight so I figured, why not just make it official and post everything we did on the blog! Included are things to do in the city and where we went and stayed in Olympic National Park. Enjoy!
The City
Stay
When the sis and I travel, a must is staying in the right area and right hotel. One that is walkable to the best restaurants and attractions plus has a great gym for us to get a good workout in!
Top of my list here is The Westin Seattle. They’re located in the heart of downtown, totally walkable to just about everything including Pike’s Place Market, Boutique shopping, and Myrtle Park! Oh, and tons of great restaurant options ranging from casual lunch spots to fancy restaurants that highlight the freshest seafood.
Not only that, but Westin Seattle also has an incredibly amazing gym which includes cardio machines, free weights area, bodyweight rig (rope pulley, dip bar, pull-up bar) and TRX machines! What I’ve learned about myself is that if the gym has the equipment, I’m 10x more likely to actually use it. And let me tell you… they had all the right stuff. Plus, Westin hotels in general are partners with Peloton, TRX, and New Balance to give you options whether you want to go for a guided run using their Run Concierge service or a spin class using Peloton’sĀ innovative system.
Eat
Literally, where do I even begin? There are so many amazingly healthy and delicious places to eat at in Seattle. Each neighborhood had their own hidden gems and cuisines that it was always a struggle deciding between places! A few of my favorites are in the pictures below but include:
The Mountains
Taking things in a different direction, we headed west towards the coast line to explore Washington’s different terrains. The Olympic National Park was our main squeeze and with that we got to explore all sorts of places that left me absolutely speechless.
- Chapman Farms – during Fall, they have a gorgeous pumpkin patch (must stop!)
- Tropical vibes in the Hoh Rain Forest. Which by the way, is the only one in America!
- Quinault Lake and hiking paths
- Kalaloch Beach (Stayed at Kalaloch Lodge) – Beach 4 is also a great stop!
- Sol Duc Falls – super short hike, easy to do, and the falls we’re beautiful
- Hurricane Ridge – Shayda and I woke up before the crack of dawn to hike this 1 miler to the peak of Hurricane Ridge and caught the sunrise… 1000% recommend. It’s a bit steeper, but still absolutely doable!
- Lake Crescent (Stayed at Lake Crescent Lodge) – the water here was the clearest I’ve ever seen in my life. This would be a great place to stay in the summer time so you can actually get in the water!
Hope y’all enjoyed my little recap as much as I enjoyed reminiscing on the memories. It was seriously a trip I will never forget and want to go on again, and again!
