What a beautiful time of year, the weather starts to cool, pumpkin spice lattes grace coffee shop menus, and Whole Lotta Yoga takes place! Whole Lotta Yoga is an event hosted by Austin Fit Magazine and Onnit Academy that benefits The Flat Water Foundation, which is an Austin-based non-profit dedicated to providing those diagnosed with cancer, their families and loved ones access to mental health therapy and support. Donations are made by local yogis and in return, they receive a day full of yoga, treats, and mingling with the Austin fitness community.
It’s amazing to see all these Yoga studios come together to share their passion for practice and benefit a great cause! From 9am to 3pm, you can come and go as you please while shopping at local vendors and eating delicious food. It’s an opportunity to try out all the participating studios while also snatching some free swag. Yes, FREE SWAG!
This year, 8 studios were featured including BFree Yoga Austin, Practice Yoga, Wanderlust Yoga, Sukha Yoga, Black Swan Yoga, Yoga Yoga, and Yogabatics! Each studio provided 30 minutes of styles that varied from straight chill to Chaturanga galore. The great thing about it, besides the actual yoga, was that you could tell how unique each studio was and with just a class in half the time, you’re able to find a practice that works for you!
There are 3 different tiers of which these local yogis could donate and with higher pay comes higher rewards:
$20 – Whole Lotta Yoga class card to 7 participating studios
$30 – Whole Lotta Yoga class card + T-shirt
$50 – Whole Lotta Yoga class card + T-shirt + Raffle entry
It doesn’t get much better than swag and coming together with your community to benefit a great cause.
