Alright everyone, so today we take our workout journey to Corepower Yoga over at the Triangle located in Austin, TX. They offer a variety of different types of classes from hot yoga to sculpting!
The class I tried out was called Yoga Sculpt – heated with weights. It was unlike any yoga class I had ever taken. Not that I am some yoga master, but this class was great and filled with a blend of stretching, strength, and cardio. The room was heated to a temperature of around 95ºF and started like any typical class does, which is finding your breath and warming up the body. The equipment required for each class consists of a set of light and heavy hand weights, a block, mat, water bottle, and a towel (because you WILL get sweaty). You go through a series of exercises and poses that are pretty regular that don’t require weights to get your body flowing. Then you begin to incorporate hand weights (size depending on the exercise) which consist of moves like chair pose with arm raises (airplane/superman), warrior 2, horse stance, and many many more. Along with the weight exercises and holding poses, the instructor incorporated cardio moves such as squat jumps (that focus on control rather than reps or height) and vinyasa flows to always keep your heart rate elevated. Trust me, you will not leave there without feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the day!
The instructors are all so kind and humble, and the atmosphere of the studio as a whole is great. Their facilities are always clean, and they have an awesome locker room with waterfall type shower heads along with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash so you don’t need to lug around your own and can leave from the studio straight to wherever your day takes you.
This is one of my favorite yoga studios in Austin simply because they offer so many different types of classes to meet everyones needs!
Fun Fact: if you are an Austin resident you get your first 10 days FREE with unlimited classes! So go try Corepower Yoga for yourself and see how it changes your body both mentally and physically. Namaste.
