Hike, Bike Paddle – Rowing Dock

Join us for a spectacular morning full of adventure. Start with a sunrise paddle on  Lady Bird Lake, followed by trail ride along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike trail and a short hike through Zilker Nature Preserve!

Sunrise Paddle at Rowing Dock 

Meet at the Rowing Dock parking lot at 7am and be on the water by 7:15am! We will paddle east on Lady Bird Lake and capture the sunrise. The paddle will be lead by Rowing Dock staff who will ensure the group stays together and makes it back to the dock in time for the next activity. Your ticket includes the cost of your kayak. You can paddle with a friend in a tandem kayak,  both individuals need to purchase a team ticket which will indicate you are part of a team renting a double kayak. Pricing is the same.

Butler Trail Ride

Once we get back from our paddle we will  hop on our bikes and start the trail ride along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike trail. There will be two distance options, a 5 mile loop or a 10mile loop.  If you are a less experienced cyclist please choose the shorter distance. The longer distance group will move at a faster pace. Our tentative bike out time is 8:30am. Your ticket includes the price of a trail bike provided by Barton Springs Bike Rental. The bikes will be delivered to Rowing Dock and will be returned at Rowing Dock. Helmets are provided at no additional charge. Ticket prices are the same whether you rent a bike or you bring your own. In order to confirm your bike rental you must purchase a Kayak and Bike Ticket. Participants that purchase a Boat Only ticket will not have a bike reserved for them.

Zilker Nature Preserve Hike

After we check the bikes back in at Rowing Dock, we’ll grab a quick snack provided by KIND, and make our way to the trail in the Zilker Nature Preserve.  Hike out time is tentatively 9:30am.  The out and back trail is approximately one mile. Along the trail we hope to see some of Austin’s native flora and fauna and will make our way along the overlook trail, where you will be able to see spectacular views of Downtown Austin.

We are expected to be back at Rowing Dock between 10:30am and 11:00am where we will take our final group picture, and confirm the location for our post event meal!
